The Anniversary of A Timeless Classic Nike AF1

30 Years Of Perfection: Air Force 1
Lets play a little game, word association if you will. I'm going to say the word sneaker and you tell me what's the first brand that comes to mind. Ready 1.....2.....3;  if you live on planet earth within the last 30 years you most likely would have said Nike and why not. Phil Knight and Nike have done it all, incorporating sports attire with fashion and creating a brand name that will far surpass any of our life times. There are now so many divisions of this brand that its almost next to impossible to keep up, Nike has crossed over into dress shoes, boots, clothing, apparel & accessories and show no signs of slowing down. However, for the sake of this article we are going to stick to one of my past time favorites the AF1 (Air Force One). 2012 marks the 30th anniversary of this timeless classic, with new designs being released to put a new spin on this old record and the breakdown is as follows.

Nike AF1
Taking its name form none other than the presidents plane, AF1 made its glorious debut back in the early 80's and continues to move forward like a freight train full steam ahead. One of the more notable history points of this sneaker is that it was the first basketball sneaker to incorporate Air technology. Of course as you already know these sneakers are also super fresh, coming in black and white and looking killer on and off the court. 30 years latter the AF1 stills remains the corner stone of sport and fashion.

Nike Lunar Force 1
This is the result of the union of the AF1 & the future, it incorporates the fundamentals of lightweight technology, breathabilty and of course comfort.

Nike AF1 Foamposite
One of the most remarkable designs to hit the street since the creation of the waffle sole. This revolutionary sneaker was inspired by both the AF1 and the organic shell of the Nike Foamposite, adding an element of science with the biomechanical sneaker fusing to the wearer, adding superior comfort and stability.

Nike AF1 Boot
Hands down one of the best inventions since slice bread, this AF1 master piece fuses the elements of sneakers with an all weather element that blows all others clear out of the water. Taking the style elements of Nike AF1 and the durability of the traditional duck-boots, this boot is truly all purposed. For even more comfort and support Nike added the air sole heel and a sturdy grip that will be sure to attack any terrain.

Fall Fashion Series: Suit Up

It has been said that boys have swagger but men have class. We here at Geeked Out disagree, If you want to be classy you've got to have a little bit of swagger and nothing says swag or class like a suit, if you'v seen Goodfellas you know what I'm sayin'. Nothing turns the ladies head like a good suit. Now, you're a smart guy right? Why not look it? Today we here at Geeked Out Style are gonna teach you how to rock the suit.

First thing you need to know about a suit is that not all suits are created equal. From color to fabric to stitching you get what you pay for so look for high quality, fine suits are constructed much better than cheaper suits you may find at some retail stores. The bright side about this is when you buy a good suit it should last you a lifetime and do keep that in mind a classic suit is something that will keep you looking sharp for years to come so do avoid the PSY look, you are not a Korean Popstar. Now with Winter rapidly approaching it is probably a good idea to focus on materials that do well in the winter time a nice flannel or heavy wool suit will keep you look balling without freezing your balls off. Make sure the suit is also of a proper weight if you live in a northern climate like New York a suit between 13 to 18 oz will keep you warm all winter long. One of the most important parts of purchasing a suit, however, is after you've purchased it. Gentlemen tailors were created for a reason, don't be caught in an ill-fitted suit. Looking like your 10 wearing your Dad's suit is not baller. So, remember if you wanna warm up with the ladies on these cold winter nights get your self a warm Winter Suit, your welcome.

Men's Fall Fashion: Jeans

Trend Mens Jeans 2011
The Perfect Pair Of Fall Jeans

There are many different factors that need to be taken into account when going out to cop a new pair of jeans or pants, particularly in the frigid fall and winter months. We here at Geeked Out are prepped to give you the low down this season.

Size may seem like an obvious statement, but you know as well as we do that some people just did not get that memo. I think its safe to say that no one is trying to see the bulge in your pants or the camel toe between your legs, unless that's what you're into. Moderation is everything, dress smart and dress in styles that suit your body type, remember no two people are the same and just because tight jeans looked good on your favorite actor or actress does not always mean it complements your muffin top and thunder thighs.

When it comes to color you really can’t go wrong (just don’t go and break out the sand blasted jeans of the 80’s something’s are better left dead) with that said,  throughout the years we have seen Jeans become a staple in American Culture and if one thing is for sure that is not subject to change. In terms of color, we've seen everything from dark to light washes, but one thing is for certain--the washed-out, worn-in look is here to stay.

That is not say those crisp dark jeans will still not turn heads, it will always remain one of my personal favorites and still looks killer no matter how you rock it,  business casual or walking the block the choice is yours.

Another key factor to take into account is the cut of pant leg; straight, slim, skinny, boot the possibilities are endless. It seems however and we here at Geeked Out agree that the straight fitted Jeans is the way to go. Once again multi purposeful and very useful these jeans can be worn out to your favorite bar or throw on a nice shirt and tie with a blazer and you’re ready for that Business Luncheon.

Fall Fashion Series Men's Boots

 The Fall / Winter Boot
Hands down one of the most essential aspects of a man’s dress attire this Winter is most definitely the Boot. Made for both comfort and durability, the Boot is essential for keeping feet dry in those wet Fall and Winter months. A good Boot should always be multipurpose, a Boot for stompin' through nights on the town or kickin' ass in the board room. Many different styles have arisen over the years but by following our simple guide you'll be trudging the Winter months in style.

Rustic is most definitely back, the more washed out the boot the more character it adds to your overall image and we recommend anything in brown to complement the look. As mentioned before, you want to make sure a Boot serves its primary function, keeping your feet dry so make sure you find treated waterproof leather. So while shopping for said boot, make sure that you are getting soles with adequate traction for the ever changing pavement you'll be pounding. Nailed and stitched soles are going to fair better and last longer than glued soles. Investing in quality Boots is a must. Now, Boots come in all styles and shapes but we recommend either Work or Dress Boots. Absolutely no Cowboy Boots! We here at Geeked Out Style prefer simple and sleek so steer clear of too much ornament, we recommend a simple cap-toe boot between ankle to shin high. Happy Stomping.

Men's Fall Fashion Series The Trench Coat

We here at Geeked Out want to make sure that you are prepared for the modern day world and the fashion that is associated with it. Anyone can put on a shirt and pants, but it takes a little bit of style and a willingness to try something new to truly set yourself apart from the pack. Our Fall Fashion Series will keep you turning heads all Autumn long, keeping you up to date on the trends every fashion geek should have chillin' in their closet.

The Trench Coat

The Trench coat is not just your grandpapies rain jacket anymore. Cut shorter and more formfitting the Modern Trench Coat is designed to not only to look a little more dapper but also serve a purpose. The shorter cuts allow the jackets to keep free from snags doors and brings an element of cleanliness and edge. Staying clean and dry is no small feat in fall and winter months but these coats will keep you looking clean so you can get dirty after hours. Don't get it twisted though, the majority of trench coats are designed with an internal lining that is removable, so how does that translate to you? Now you can rock that coat three seasons outta the year. The Modern Trench Coat is a great way to tie together any outfit, coming in a variety of colors and styles So, whether you have your grandpa’s old jacket or you’re in the process of choosing one for your fall wardrobe these jackets are sure to get you noticed.  My personal favorite the Burberry London Rainwear Trench Coat will keep you looking Geek Chic all winter long. Not looking to break your bank? Gap's Double-Button Down Trench Coat is another favorite here at Geeked Out Style.

Deck Out The Specs

So, you wanna be a Geek? Well, start out with the basics. Every good Geek needs a stellar pair of specs. With retro being in the Woody Allen look is all over the place. You can't go wrong with a pair of black Ray Ban wayfarers they're a classic, and sported by yours truly. If you really want to turn heads though you may want to go with something a little bit bolder. However, not all glasses are created equal and some may not look good on every face. So here I have established the Geek's guide to decking out the specs.

Buddy Holly was the original when it came to rocking out the thick black frames and black is always in and goes with most anything or mix it up with tortoise shell. A question a lot of people have is whether to go rounded or squared with their new thick frames. It all depends on the face shape, I myself have a rectangular face shape and my black wayfarers fit my face well. Those with a rounded face are often better suited with a pair of persols like Steve McQueen's. Never wear frames wider than your face. Another key difference is when to go black and when to go with the tortoise shell. Those with a blonde mane should stick with the tortoise and those with dark black locks should wear specs to match.  My biggest advice is don't fake it, nothing pisses a Geek off like a poser, if you have 20/20 vision accept it and throw on some sunglasses instead. Specs should only be dawned by the vision impaired, we've spent our life damning our blindness let us enjoy the trend.
